The shop and café were buzzing last Friday. It was great to see so many kids out enjoying the new play area and parents and grandparents enjoying a cuppa whilst they did. If you are around do pop down and see us tomorrow. We are now open every Friday, 9.30am-4.30pm.

Saturday’s market will have a couple of extra special goods on sale. Viv of Brightwell Bees dropped off a box of honeycomb pieces earlier today which she has just cut straight from the hive. This is delicious on warm, crusty bread or swirled with really good vanilla ice cream. We only have 12 pieces and that is it until next year – so come early to avoid disappointment! Our other special treat will be some of Robert’s Sandford Sourdough Honey and Lavender Bread. A great bread for breakfast spread with butter. We will have some tasters on our general stall.

Finally, I would like to introduce Louise Tong, our new regular Market Manager, who will be working every Saturday to oversee the market as well as promoting it during the week. She is passionate about local food, markets and had been a committed customer before starting the role. Welcome, Louise!

Saturday Market guest stalls:

The Clays Market Garden: Fruit and vegetables – grown without chemicals.

Ally’s Kitchen – Delicious cakes & puddings

Porch Preserves – Jams and chutneys
