It’s a busy week here at Talking Shop. On Monday the Gardening Team did fantastic work in the sunshine on our ever more gorgeous garden. The strawberries are being harvested, the chamomile is out in flower – and we are using the mint every week in the café for fresh mint tea.

The highlight this week has to be tomorrow’s Food Surplus Café. This has become a much loved social occasion. Every 3rd Wednesday of the month a big team of volunteers cook up amazing dishes from ingredients that would have otherwise gone to waste from the Oxford Food Bank. You pay…whatever you want. It’s as simple as that. We will be dishing up between 1-2.30pm. It’s gonna be hot so we are going to try out an exciting new recipe we’ve discovered for banana ice cream using only one ingredient!

On Friday our brilliant shop and café will be open serving delicious homemade cakes, summer soup and sourdough sandwiches. We open at 9.30am and close at 4.30pm every Friday.

Then on Saturday the market welcomes back Ally’s Kitchen with her oh so tempting cakes and puds. Plus Spoke Shop is here to ensure you can cycle off any extra calories from those cakes.
