Hall Opening Montage

Busy Busy Busy

We counted over 380 people coming into the hall on Saturday and we missed counting in many, many more. There was a fantastic buzzy community atmosphere. All of the rooms including the new Community Hub extension were open for people to explore.

NEW! Table Tennis

All ages tried out Talking Shop’s new table tennis table (open sessions on Tuesday evenings starting 27th January from 5.30pm).

Toddler Group

Lots of little hands were kept happily busy with the craft table run by Sandford’s Toddler Group. The group meet every Monday morning from 9.30am.

Printing sessions

Beautiful creations emerged from an open printing session with Kennington artist Natalie Ellett. Don’t worry if you missed out though as Natalie will be running workshops alongside the market over the next few months.

Youth Playground Group

Sandford’s Youth Playground Group (YPG) showed off their fantastic design for a new playground and encouraged the community to pledge.  You can find out more about the project on the YPG Facebook page.

Regular Groups at the Village Hall

Other regular groups that will be running from the hall also introduced themselves:

  • pilates
  • yoga
  • guitar society
  • Tae Kwondo
  • Karate
  • baking workshops
  • woodturners

Details about all of these groups and their meeting times will be available soon on the new website being built for the village. Keep your eye out for developments at http://www.sandfordonthames.co.uk/

Business as usual for Talking Shop

Talking Shop’s market and cafe are back in the hall now every Saturday from 9 to midday. After such a huge opening we will be easing everyone back in with a gentle market this weekend and building up the stalls and stock over the next few weeks. We’re looking forward to seeing you on Saturday.

New Hall

The redeveloped village hall

This is how our beautiful hall looks now! Thank you to Maya Ellis Design, to the funders and to our brilliant community for the hard work and fantastic enthusiastic support that made it happen.
