With flavours this good the simpler the better.
Old Farm Shop beetroot (roasted in their skins, then cooled, peeled and chopped) and OFS peas fresh from their pods, mint from the garden plus brown rice, feta cheese, lemon juice and black pepper. Delicious!
Or … try Old Farm Shop tomatoes, room temperature, chopped into chunks and left to sit for a while in good olive oil, with a little salt and fresh basil.
Or… steam broad beans until tender, fry finely chopped garlic and an onion in some good local rapeseed oil or Ian Paxton’s fantastic chilli oil until they’re soft. Stir in the beans and mix the lot with pasta. Finish off with parmesan cheese (and/or feta) and fresh mint.
Another easy Old Farm Shop salad – lettuce washed, dried and roughly chopped, mixed up with freshly podded peas, chunks of pear, chopped hazelnuts, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, lemon or lime juice and oil or if you like your salads sweeter use balsamic vinegar instead of the juice. Good with feta or another cheese too.
