This month Sandford’s Saturday Market and Cafe is two years old. It’s been a fantastic time and the future is looking really good. The project is a great success in bringing people together over great local produce: we get over 100 people through the door in just 3 hours most Saturdays, volunteers give 80 hours a week to run things and we have built a brilliant network of local suppliers.

Come and join us for a bit of a party this Saturday. Bring your friends. We’ll have all of our usual delicacies and the cafe, plus some new stuff:

Mark and Jane Cooper will be out the front with their delicious meat to sell and with a pig roast ready to feast on from 11am.

Worth noting that they did a pig roast for international chefs at Le Manoir on Monday 22nd April..

“Raymond Blanc welcomed the Relais & Chateaux Grands Chefs as well as Visit Britain, The Sustainable Restaurant Association, various international journalists and media to celebrate British produce by holding a ‘Farmers Market’ at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons.  We were invited to be a part of the celebration and showcase our Oxford Sandy & Black Pigs by doing a pig roast for the informal walking lunch. We were delighted to be involved alongside many larger producers; the pig roast was photographed, tasted and enjoyed by about 200 chefs and guests.”

We’ll have some whole free range chickens from The Old Farm Shop’s Harwell farm this weekend. They are fresh this week (alternate weeks fresh / frozen). Do pre-order through us on this email if you know you want one (£10 for a delicious 2.2kg).
