I have to confess that I am very happy when curly kale appears! Not everyone’s thing but don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it! It’s great in curries and you should definitely try eating it raw.

My Curly Kale Salad of the moment

Grab a few handfuls of curly kale, wash in a sink of cold water, shake to dry and chop into narrow strips.

Throw into a salad bowl, add a conference pear, quartered and chopped into generous bite sized chunks.

Roughly chop a big handful of hazelnuts and add them to the mix, followed by chunks of feta cheese (lots of parmesan cut into flakes or goats cheese both work well too )

Dress with the juice of half a lemon and a ‘glug’ of good olive oil.  Enjoy with big hunks of Multiseed Low GI bread (from the General Stall) or toasted pitta bread.

I finished off with coffee and a custard tart from One True Cake…
