March 31st at Sandford’s Saturday Market, Needle Felting Workshop with Louise Calder
Needle felting is a way of making and shaping or even sculpting felt, without the use of water. Special barbed felting needles are pushed into fluffy, loose wool, over and over so the barbs catch the scales on the fibers, tangling and binding them together, much like the wet felting process. Fine details can be achieved using this technique, and it is popular for 2D and 3D felted work.
Each kit will contain the materials for one butterfly brooch.
All the tools and materials will be included in the kit, so you can carry on at home if you don’t finish at the workshop.
There are just 10 places for this workshop so we’re taking names on a first come first served basis. Call Abi on Ox 774661 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The process involves very sharp needles so it may not be suitable for people with poor dexterity but please get in touch if you have any questions.
We will be asking for a £6 contribution to cover the costs of the materials but you get to take it all home and the training is completely free!
