We’ve now been running Sandford’s Saturday morning market since April. It’s been a great success to date with a large number of people from the local community visiting regularly both for shopping or for breakfast in the cafe. One of the main reasons it has worked so well is we have a great team of volunteers from the village (and some from just outside Sandford). We have over 40 volunteers now – some of whom work almost weekly, others who work a shift here or there and maybe only an hour at a time. The key is that people give the time they want to.

We would welcome volunteers to join the team – it would be great to hear from you if you are interested. We have a number of things people can get involved in to help out:

* Collecting local produce during the week
* Setting up first thing on a Saturday morning
* Packing away after the market
* Working on a stall
* Helping in the cafe
* Cooking bacon/eggs in the cafe
* Offering an hour or two mid morning to cover breaks on Saturdays
* Leafleting your area of the village from time to time

It would be lovely to hear from you if you would like to help. Please email me back if you are interested (contacts.talkingshop@gmail.com) or give me a call if you’d prefer (Home 01865 749 437 Mobile: 07765 971 041).

Best wishes,
and The Talking Shop Team
